City As Studio

The first open day of City as Studio: EXB 10.03, the third in the City as Studio exhibition series organised by Sarai, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), New Delhi, will be on June 18, 2010.

The exhibition that will run till July 14, 2010, presents the works of Prayas Abhinav, Shamsher Ali, Love Anand, Hemant Babu, Konrad Bayer, Ram Bhat, Nabina Das, Neelofer, Gaigongmei Gangmei, Goutam Ghosh, Deepankar Gohain, Niha Masih, Suraj Rai, Ish S and Nishant Sharma, and performances by Manola Gayatri, Ambirsh Satwik and Gautam Ghosh. Performances by Manola Gayatri, Ambirsh Satwik and Gautam Ghosh will also be held as part of the events. The venue will be Sarai, CSDS, at 29, Jaipur Road, New Delhi.

Manola Gayatri will present ‘Street Walkers: Gropping in the Dark,’ a dramatic monologue on street life experiences for the walking ‘Akka-hood,’ while Ambirsh Satwik will present a performance in collaboration with Samanth Banerjee, Vishwajyoti Ghosh, Deepankar Gohain, Rochie Rana and Dyuti Mittal. Gautam Ghosh, in association with Deepankar Gohain, will present ‘Wiping Pink Mountain,’ the Pink Mountain being a skin that has been hung to dry

The City as Studio exhibition platform is an artist-run space for emerging and experimental contemporary art in the heart of Delhi, committed to showcasing new work and processes from artists and practitioners at Sarai on a regular basis.
